You have to see it in person to really appreciate the hard work and craftsmanship that went into making this amazing work of art. About Peter Martin Peter Martin is one talented human being and his "sole authorship" lavaåÊlamp San Mai really sets the the NebulaåÊoff nicely. The exotic materials used to complete this folder really put Peters skills on display. If you are looking for a one off custom creation from a legend that has been doing this for over 20 years and almost won on the hit Discovery Channel show "Forged in Fire" you better act now, a show piece like thisåÊdoesn't come around very often. Peter Martin has been making custom knives for over 20 years. He started this journey when he was just 13 years old when his dad helped him make a knife out of an industrial band saw blade. After looking for a knife to dress up his game from a hunt, Peter decided to reach out to a local maker for an O-1 steel bladed hunter with Micarta scales. It performed so well Peter asked him if he would show him how it was made and in 1987 he decided to try it on for size. We are so glad he did! In 1989 Peter started hand forging his own tool steel after watching a local smith do his thing. After years of accumulating tools and equipment, Peter started forging his own Damascus steel with help from many hammer-ins he attended with other smiths. In 1994, Peter Martin started into folding knives including automatics, assisted opening, lock backs, liner locks and various slip joint knives. Today Peter makes was is considered Art Knives hand crafted from the best exotic materials and superior attention to detail craftsmanship Forged In Fire Peter was a contestant on an episode of "Forged in Fire" on the Discovery Channel. Peter did an incredible job and built a anåÊElizabethan Era Rapier Sword and should have won, but ultimately came in second. åÊHere is the link to a clip of the episode Peter was featured on. If that is not testament to the kind of special maker this man is, I don't know what is.
